Come home to a healthy home!
Every year, more and more children and adults develop
allergies and asthma. Studies show that people are also
developing cancer more now than in the last 20 years.
Even our pets are victims to cancer and other health
problems. A lot of these problems come from the type
of cleaning products that we use. They contain chemicals
and toxins that make us sick. At Aroma Care Cleaning,
not only do we eliminate those allergens but use all
natural cleaning products infused with essential oils
that leave the home with a wonderful smell. We use 100%
plant based products that are not only healthy for us
but also safe for kids, pets and the enviroment!
Take comfort in knowing that your home is a healthy
home. We use HEPA filtered vacuums which pick up 99.9%
of pollen, dust mites, mold spores, pet dander and purify
the air while vacuuming.
Traditional household cleaners can
have the following toxic effects on children:
Cancer
The rates of childhood cancer have been steadily
increasing for over 20 years. This terrible trend
has been strongest for certain forms of leukemia and
brain cancer. Some 8,000 children per year are diagnosed
with cancer in the U.S. One in every 400 Americans
can expect to get cancer before the age of 15.
Toxins
Children are more susceptible to toxins than adults
are. They receive proportionately larger doses of
environmental toxins than adults as well. Children
play on the floor where allergens such as dust, and
heavier-than-air chemicals settle and collect. And
unfortunately, most young children naturally tend
to put these things into their mouths.
Learning and Behavioral Problems
Birth Defects
Reproductive Problems
Asthma and other Respiratory Problems
Effects on Pets:
Veterinarians are treating more and more cases of cancer
in animals as well as increased numbers of behavioral
problems and poisonings. Household cleaners can be extremely
toxic to pets, as can common bug sprays and garden pesticides.
Symptoms of Cleaning Product
Poisoning:
While the actual symptom of cleaning product
poisoning that the animal exhibits depends on the type
of substance to which he or she was exposed, there are
some general symptoms of which you should be aware.
For dogs and cats, these include:
- Anxiety
- Burns on the mouth and esophagus
- Central nervous system depressant
- Colic
Coma
- Corneal damage
- Cough
- Excessive salivation
- Foaming at the mouth
- Hormonal changes
- Hyperthermia
- Muscle weakness
- Restlessness
- Seizures
- Shallow breathing
- Skin ulcers
- Slow respiration
- Vomiting
In addition to the above-listed symptoms, cats, who
can have fatal reactions to cleaning products, also
experience the following:
- Cardiac arrhythmia
- Hair loss
- Hyperactivity
- Panting
- Shock
Birds who have been poisoned by cleaning products
suffer from:
- Anxiety
- Breathing problems
- Corneal damage
- Cough
- Hormonal changes
- Seizures
Candle Poisoning:
If you're like me, you love burning candles and making
your home smell good! But beware of metal wick candles.
Lead emitted by this type of candle is a serious health
hazard. "Candles are fast becoming one of the most
common unrecognized causes of poor indoor air quality,"
says Diane Walsh Astry of the Health House, a national
education project created by the American Lung Association
of Minnesota. Lead poisoning can lead to behavior changes
and damage internal organs, especially the kidneys.
Besides breathing lead fumes, children can be exposed
to even more lead that is deposited on the floor, furniture,
and walls because they often put their hands in their
mouths. Not all candles -- or even all scented candles
-- cause hazardous pollution. But since labels won't
tell which ones are safe, Astry and other candle experts
offer this advice:
"Watch out for shiny metal wire inside the wicks
of candles. Opt for pure paper or cotton instead. Keep
wicks trimmed to one-quarter inch for more complete
combustion, and keep candles out of drafts. Windiness
blows more toxins into the air and causes inefficient
burning. Watch out for slow-burning candles with additives.
(These candles often feel greasy to the touch.) Instead,
look for pure beeswax candles, which emit less pollution."
For aromatherapy, put a few drops of scented oil in
a defuser -- a tray made to fit on a light bulb. Or
you can put the drops into some boiling water. Don't
use candles in jars when the candle leaves a soot ring
on the jar's lip. The soot may be an indication of lead
dust.
